When it comes to stretching your info products line there are several ways to create higher perceived value products using your ebook as a springboard.

People mainly use different internal sensory systems to process information; visual, auditory and kinaesthetic, though we use all three to some extent, each one of us uses one more than the other two!

When it comes to delivering your content it makes perfect sense to offer your ebook content in different formats.

The bonus here is you can (and should) charge more for these because they are a higher perceived value to your audience.

• Your ebook is perceived to be more valuable than website content
• Audio has a higher perceived value to your ebook
• Video seems to be hold a higher value than audio
• Your content on a physical format such as printed books, CD’s and DVD’s delivered to the door are seen to be a higher value than anything delivered by digital download.
• Live Seminars or webinars are another level up again

All of these formats also hold differing perceived value to users who prefer either visual (video and images), auditory (audio) or kinaesthetic (live environment and interaction).

Which do you prefer?

So let’s focus on how you can go about re-formatting your ebook content.

If by chance you haven’t yet created an ebook you could reverse engineer this part.

Reading your ebook and recording your voice gives you an mp3 formatted product. Pamela software for Skype will allow you to record your voice (or indeed any Skype calls which is great for interviews). You can get a free trial but the cost is very low anyway. You can also use audacity, which is free audio editing software – just hit record and speak away.

Now if you haven’t got an ebook perhaps you’d prefer to record your audio and get this transcribed into an ebook using services such as WordsintoProfits or Transcription Team.

A video product doesn’t have to be a Hollywood production. You could convert the main points from your ebook into slides on PowerPoint and record a video using camtasia or camstudio.

Alternatively create the video in Windows Movie Maker on your PC (or iMovie on the Mac) with still images. Online services such as Animoto can help you easily create video, although in a more promotional style.

Offering physical products isn’t as difficult as it sounds. You don’t need to hold piles of stock and run down to the post office every time you get an order. Kunaki is an online dropshipping service that allows you to upload a cover for your product (or choose from a template), compile the content for the DVD/CD right from your computer. When you get an order you just login and place it, paying for production and shipping.

Another physical product is of course having a printed book. Although not always a higher perceived value, you certainly get higher perceived expertise by being a published author.

Getting your book onto the biggest online bookseller in the world is easier than you think. Amazon offer a self publishing route via their createspace service. All you need to do is upload your PDF along with a nice cover and your book can be on the Amazon marketplace and most importantly, marketed and pushed by Amazon!  Whilst you’re doing this you may as well look at offering your ebook for the Kindle, the ebook reader device.

This leads to the Apple ipad and their ibook app for content but that’s a whole other story. (Seriously, it’s early days but a massive opportunity)

Lastly of course are seminars and webinars. This isn’t going be for everyone, but interacting and answering questions is really going to appeal to a lot of your audience. Well known webinar platforms include Gotomeeting and DimDim

Those are the five ways you can leverage and stretch your content to make much much more money from that little ole’ ebook.
