You should be proud of the work that you do. When you are working in the wrong niche, none of this will be possible. So, if you find yourself in the wrong field, just walk away. Sit down and figure out exactly what field you are passionate about and start working in it. You will thank yourself later and be more successful than you ever were working in the wrong niche.
