Can You Be SEO Friendly And Reader Friendly All At The Same Time?

We all know the effectiveness of content which has been search engine optimised but I am sure that you will all agree that there is nothing worse than when you are carrying out a Google search for something and you arrive on a website which is at the top of the Google rankings, only to find that the reason it is there is because the content is fill of keywords and phrases which results in the information that you are looking for being basically unreadable.

A Change Of Theme: I am Officially On Socrates

A couple of weeks ago, I changed my blog theme from an old out dated one onto the modern look of Socrates. Which I must admit that I adore and it is so, so easy to use.

I came across it by accident about six months ago – I was reading a story about a fellow internet marketer from England that had paid a coder a lot of money to design them their own blog theme to sell.

But what actually happened is that they copied Socrates and the internet marketer only found out when he was threatened with a copyright lawsuit.

Moving a Blog to Your Own URL

Many people start their blogs on hosted platforms. Hosted blogging solutions can be a good way to start, because they’re free and they’re generally trusted in the search engines. But there are perils associated with hosting a blog on someone else’s server.

For one thing, you’re at the mercy of the owner of the platform. Blogger has been known to delete blogs without warning, simply because they felt the blog was too much like spam or too commercial.

Building Your Income Streams With Blogs

Blogs are a fantastic way to make money.  They perform well in search engines, they’re easy to promote, and they can offer very sticky content.  If you blog often, and you’re good at what you do, you could develop a pretty large following of readers who subscribe to your RSS feed and read your content on a daily basis.

One of the biggest keys to success with blogs is posting in them regularly.  If you don’t post regularly, you probably won’t get much traffic, and people won’t return.  Posting frequently also keeps your content fresh, and search engines love fresh content.

Why I Hate Using The AutoBlog Feature

I absolutely hate auto blogging software and it can be simply nothing but trouble and totally ruin a blog. Once you put it on your blog you can end up waiting years to regain your positions on Google. If you want a decent Alexa and Google page rank it is certainly not for you.

I remember being asked several months ago to help someone out with his blog that wasn’t doing too well. He had traffic of about 100 daily hits through Twitter and that was it. He had tried to build his traffic but he was never getting repeat traffic because the blog posts weren’t even related to his blog.

Never Too Rich Or Successful For A Tunkey Site

You are never too rich or successful for a tunkey site and that is something that I have learnt more than most over the last few months. I have always created all my businesses from scratch with some help from the odd private label rights along the way but what if you don’t actually need to work that hard on your new niche business?

I first bought a tunkey site when I wasn’t experienced in 2005 in a niche I was incapable of cracking so it was a total disaster but for my blogging course I felt it was needed for me to go down the road again and use my experience in the right way so I found a really good tunkey site for $25 in the wedding niche.

Powerful Ways To Add A Personal Touch To Your Blog

You will always find that if you add a personal touch to your blog you will build a far better relationship with your readers and they will become far more responsive to everything that you have to say.

There are several extremely powerful ways to do this so let’s start with the most obvious and that is to add a small photograph of yourself to the blog. It doesn’t have to be some kind of perfect portrait, anything will do and even if you have a face which is more suited to radio it is still not a problem.

Why RSS is an important part of your blog

RSS is such an important part of your blog it is often surprising why people don’t make the most of it. I am often emailed on this subject and it seems that it is common to put up some kind of mental barrier towards RSS because basically, people just don’t understand how it works. It’s the same as with anything that is slightly unfamiliar, but in the case of RSS the impact that it can have on your internet marketing business makes it well worth spending the few minutes that are required to make sure that you understand why it is such an important part of your blog.
