If you want to make money blogging, don’t be motivated by making money blogging

No, really, I am being serious. Being solely motivated by the desire to make money is the worst motivation you can have for trying to make money blogging, for several reasons:

You will make decisions based on what the money potential is, rather than based on what you actually enjoy. If you’re a blogger, you’ll be tempted to start a blog with a topic you do not know enough about, or do not have a great enough interest in, simply because you think you’ll make more money with it. This is a mistake! If you are not truly passionate about what you are doing you will burn out. At best you will become stale, at worst, you’ll quite altogether. Without a boss breathing down their neck, no one has the willpower to sustain something they do not enjoy.

This is an important question for many people these days because they simply can not find their Blog on Google and the traffic results can be very low. There is this large proportion of new Blog owners that simply think that all they have to do is put a great Blog together and then people will come.

It is simply not that simple – yes you will get a small trickle of people but you need to have your own Blog traffic plan in place to build it from depending on the level of Bloggers that you want visiting you.
