Getting And Keeping Large Clients

We often hear stories about getting large clients and we all look on in envy wishing we had one or two of them. It often makes us wonder what they have that we haven’t got and makes us assess how we carry out our business.

Ever since 2008 I have always had at least one large client at any one time. What I love most is the money that you make from the services they buy from you can then be ploughed back into your business to make it even more profitable.

For example last week I made a $3000 profit on a brand new client and that same day I purchased a fantastic site that was making $400 a month via the Flippa.com auctions.

That is an extra long term income of $400 a month without it even coming out of my bank account. I don’t have to worry about my credit card bill or being in the red and my income has increased.

Regardless of whether or not this client books me for future work, which I am sure she will. She would have also made me an extra profit of $4800 for doing nothing with the new site I have bought.

Of course, it is my full intention to upgrade the site and make the $400 a month worth triple that amount – but at the same time if I do get very busy with private clients there are no rules that I have to expand it.

As you know we are at the beginning of the year right now and I already have planned new income streams to keep me going until September, which is amazing.

If you are a subscriber to my SEO Bootcamp you will know that I am a big fan of the Godaddy.com online auctions and I may see a great domain on there this week but there is no guarantee six months down the line that I will find one that is just as good.

Large clients come to me through my reputation and for providing good quality services to my clients – and if you like you could say that I always go the extra mile. I am a hard worker and I know what works with an online business and they always get the best advice from me. No doubt they come back because I actually show them how to make money online rather than just plugging a useless service to them.

The best part of all with large clients though, is that they then recommend medium clients to me and for the internet marketing services side of things I would say 70% of my clients come from personal recommendation.

Another point to make is that many clients are like offline clients and they need you to talk to them without any jargon and use the softly softly approach. Many of them also arrive at my door after getting their fingers burnt elsewhere and you have to let you trust them first.

Just think though, of how many businesses run purely on word of mouth and it can be just as true in the internet marketing world.

Large clients are always a good boost. It is good to reinvest those types of profits to expand your business. I have a few things in place now myself to allow for varying streams of income. Looking forward to monitoring things to see how it plays out.
