How knowing a little bit of everything goes along way
When I started out online I didn’t know anything about what would make me successful online. I was like the child starting their very first day at school with a serious lack of knowledge of what to expect. Just with thoughts of what I would like it be – fun, easy but in reality it was really rather scary until I got used to it.
I started off in direct mail first so I had some idea of what it would be like online and I learnt everything as I went on. From reading e-books through to chatting to people in a similar situation on a forum. It all came together like one big jigsaw puzzle and learning a little bit of everything was a total dream come true. With any business that you get involved in as a newcomer you want to get past that stage and feel comfortable with your business.
Yes – I’ve made my fair share of mistakes you don’t feel you are human unless you do!
But I have learnt from each one of them and as time has progressed I have learnt something else that I didn’t know before. I will have chats at internet marketing meetings with people similar to myself and I will always take notes without fail. Even though on a whole they may sell a 30 page e-book full of information about setting up a Blog I might still learn something new. For example they could have one paragraph of something new that they have tried out that my business desperately needs implementing.
If I didn’t listen carefully to what they had to say I might miss out on a wonderful opportunity. I would rather know 10 things about ten types of internet marketing than just 100 bits about email marketing. To implement an internet marketing business it is nice to know about lots of different methods so that you can get your business moving.
