How to use lists to increase your blog traffic

One of my favourite methods to increase my Blog traffic has to be the use of lists. In fact it was one of the very first things I used when I was looking for my own free traffic to my Blog.  If you look on the internet you will see that people are desperate for information about various things and having lists full of this data will get you amazing positions on Google.

It is very easy it achieve as there are lists of information that you could include for practically every niche on the planet. Whether you are in the wedding niche or the make money online category.

These are a few examples of what you could use:

*Top 10 Blogging tips

*Top 10 websites for discount coupons

*The best article directories of 2009

*List of free press release distribution sites

*Top 10 hosting providers

*Top 10 Youtube videos of 2009

*Top 50 twitters to follow right now

Without looking I would say that I have roughly 50 different sets of lists on my Blog alone and they have provided me with long term traffic in the Google search engines over the last six months. For example I have a Blog post about gaining twitter followers and this post is linked to lots of other websites and blogs offering a similar list. I wrote the Blog posts several months ago and that one Blog post still provides me with 50 hits a day for something that I would now class as being old.

Another example would be my Blog plugins list on my Blog that tells people which are the best Blog plugins to use with your Blog. Most of them I personally use on Blog. To then get backlinks to this page I then wrote a review for each of the Plugins and I still get pingbacks from it today. In fact I woke up yesterday to another 30 pingbacks from one simple page on my Blog. Because these Plugins are still important to peoples business now when they search for a review of them they will also come across my Blog and I then have brand new readers for me to sell my products to.

If you are writing a Blog post about seven powerful ways you can always write an article for each of those points and post it to ezinearticles.com to build your traffic up.

Just think about the niche that your Blog is involved in and what lists you could create with it to give you repeat traffic on Google. If you find it hard writing Blog posts a top ten list gives it direction and makes it easier for you to set it out. Then just go ahead and use lists to increase your Blog traffic.
