You should always make sure that your blog is unique because if you do you will find that the extra effort that you put into it will pay you back many times over due to the fact that your visitors will keep on returning and you will rank far higher within the search engines.

Before I go any further I will discuss what you should not do with your blogging, but which many people do do, because it involves less work. This is actually good news for us because it simply means that as we are blogging with our visitors in mind, we will have less competition from the other blogs that are out there.

The lazy way to blog is by using content for your blog which you just get from the article directories. As long as you leave the resource box in place you are not breaking any rules but it won’t exactly be a good experience for your visitors. It will be nothing more than rehashed content that is probably months old, your visitors may read it but one thing is for sure, they won’t be in any kind of rush to return to your blog to see what else you have to say.

The other route that you shouldn’t take is to use one of those auto posting software tools which basically post content to your blog automatically. I know that it sounds like the perfect solution and that it is to good to be true, and in my opinion, it really is to good to be true. Using software such as this doesn’t really have your visitors in mind and you may get a short burst of success with your search engine rankings but there is no way that you will get yourself a regular group of visitors who return to your blog because they are interested in whatever you have got to say.

Ok, I have discussed what you shouldn’t do with your blog so let’s have a look at what you should do. You should make sure that your blog I unique. This is not hard to do, it just means that you should add to it on a regular basis with your own thoughts and views. If you buy a product which is in the same niche as your blog and it is good, tell your readers about it, if it is not very good, still tell your readers about it.

Talk to them as if you were talking to a friend and you will find that you will build up a relationship with them which will prove to be extremely profitable over the months and years ahead. The funny thing is though, if you make your blog unique in this way it won’t take you much longer than it would if you were just scraping rubbish information from all over the internet. Don’t be tempted to try and take short cuts because it is just not worth it and if you look after your blog by keeping it unique, it will look after you!
