I’ve just bought my first premium domain part 1

Thank you for returning to our Internet Marketing Blog. To be the first to hear about updates please subscribe.

Today I’ve just bought my first premium domain through GoDaddy.com as I am all for trying out new traffic tactics. This is something completely new for me as I usually go for free marketing methods so I’ve actually put my hand in my pocket.

This method though sounds really interesting and I will report back to you in a months time to let you know how I get on with it.

Basically Godaddy.com has an auction place on their website where you can buy premium domains that are close to expiring and it can save you an absolute fortune providing you shop around. You sign up for an account with them and then have a look at what is on offer. There is a huge variety of domains and many of them are a load of rubbish but it’s worth having a decent look for a decent one.

The easiest way to find ones that suit you is to look for them via keywords i.e. “marketing”. When you have decided on a keyword you will then see a list of domains with these words in them. My advice is to filter it so that it appears in the order of those with the most traffic. The buy it now ones are the best as you can get them straight away and don’t have to worry about waiting for it to expire.

There are a lot of domains up for sale on here for just $10 so including renewing the domain it will cost you as low as $20 for a brand new domain that has existing traffic going to it. The niche ones seem to have the best results for example I recall seeing one in the television niche that gets 5,000 hits a month and would have cost me $15 to transfer over to my hosting. However to get a good one in the make money online niche you are talking spending $20 for 300 hits a month. But if you build this up or add your own backlinks to it you have a really cool traffic generator.

The one I have purchased cost me $18 and is in the make money online niche providing 500 hits a month and I will be back in a month to tell you how it went for me and whether or not I will be repeating the experiement with other domains from Godaddy.com.

Thanks for reading my blog and I hope that I have made a difference in showing you how to make money online for beginners. Whether you want to make money blogging, become an affiliate marketing expert or are simply looking for an easy make money online solution we have one for you!

Why would someone (like myself) in the UK use go-daddy rather than than a UK based company. I realise that the big % of internet users are in the USA but as the world expands surely that is going to change?

Hi andrew

I find that godaddy.com is a better company to use and offer better value for money. If there was one in the UK that did all this i would gladly use it.

I’ve had bad experiences in the past with 123 reg and fasthosts so its given me a bad feeling about the uk ones.

kind regards

sam
