The first time I was interviewed I thought what is so interesting about me? Why on earth would anybody want to interview me and most of all why should I let some interview me. It just seemed like a waste of time for both of us.

However I soon realised that both parties can really profit from an internet marketing interview and since my very first one I have done hundreds of them since. They are a perfect way of both parties using the interview to build your reputation online. This can then bring you both excellent traffic and increase your SEO levels.

First of all taking part in an interview has the same benefits as a guest post except there are a lot more references to you and can really build your brand. It is like reviewing all your products at once and the sales after completing one is very high.

From the interviewers point of view, they are getting regular long term searches from your name and your brand giving you extra brownie points on the internet. They are telling the world that you are an internet marketer that is worth reading because they have gone to the effort t0 interview you.

In exchange for the interview you are getting your own backlinks in their Blog post along with a personal bio about yourself.

To me interviewing is the best form of search engine optimisation just due to all the backlinks you can get from one interview. You also have fantastic viral traffic from it in the long term.

Unlike guest posts you can’t just go around and ask every tom, dick and harry if you can be interviewed you need them to approach you. The best way to do this is to get yourself about, mix and make friends with those that do interviews on their blogs and take it from there.

I do about 1-2 interviews a month and each one with not only help with my SEO but bring me traffic and new loyal subscribers to my mailing list.
